Is it best to practice different types of yoga?
I’ve recently started up Bikram’s Hot Yoga and love it, but I’ve recently been hearing that in order to maximize strength and flexibility potential, it could be best to mix up the different types of yoga that I do. For example, I’ve heard that one’s muscles can end up considered the different poses and postures to be “second nature” after a while so while it’s still an excellent work out, it could be a good idea to practice another form of yoga (ie. perhaps a vinyasa or a variattion/fusion of hot yoga/vinyasa) so the different poses and postures will work the muscles in different ways. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Do you think I should stick with Bikram’s Hot Yoga until a lot of the postures become second nature, and then I can move onto a Vinyasa/Hot Yoga Fusion, perhaps sticking with Bikram’s Hot Yoga 2 times a week and occasionally (like once every week or two) adding the Vinyasa/Hot Yoga Fusion so my muscles will encounter some different postures and maximize strength?


In my opinion no. Not until you have at least mastered one technique. Otherwise your bones and muscles wiol be hurting more than normal. Once you have one method down then go to another gradually.
